  Please find attached information regarding a presentation for parents and carers on some exciting development work currently taking place across the Bailiwick and within school.

• Friday 27th May Dress up day

  Fri 27 May 2016
  This Friday is dress up day in preparation for the Summer Fayre. Children (and adults !) can come dressed in either an Alice in Wonderland themed costume, or anything bright ! Children have recently come home with details of what we would like them to donate on this day for use at the Fayre, in exchange for dressing up. This years event is primarily raising money towards the re-furbishment of the Library. We thank you for your continued support of our events.

  A fun reading group for 7 – 10 year olds.

  Join in some friendly chat about books,
  take part in quizzes, crafts and games.

  We’ll be looking at the CILIP Kate Greenaway shortlist

  Book Brains

  A reading group for 11 – 14 year olds.

  Join in some friendly chat about books, take part in quizzes,

  play UNO and other games.

  We’ll be looking at the CILIP Carnegie Medal shortlist

  4.00 – 5.00pm

   

  No booking necessary for any of the above sessions,

   just come along to the Children’s Library.
  All children aged under 8 must be accompanied.

• Seussical the Musical

  Congratulations to the school choir and Mrs Murfitt for performing so brilliantly at St James on Monday. The hall was packed, and we were very proud as they all sang some very tricky, and utterly crazy, songs from the musical based on Dr Suess' stories.

• Non-Fiction November!

  Bertie, Nathan, Braelen and Erin represented Vauvert at the School's Library Service Non-Fiction November Event. They voted for the best non-fiction book from a range including Tiny-The story of Microbes, Welcome to the family, Ali's Story, Shackleton's Journey, The story of money, Pop-up New York and Animalium. All these books would make fabulous Christmas presents, particularly for children that aren't always interested in reading fiction as they are bright and engaging and also really informative.

  The children had a  great morning judging, designing and playing top trumps and then eating delicious cakes!
