Our established Digital Leader program offers a two-year leadership opportunity for pupils in Year 5 and Year 6, designed to empower children to be ambassadors for technology and online safety. The journey begins at the end of Year 4, where aspiring leaders undergo a formal application process and are elected by the outgoing Year 6 cohort. Holding the post for two years allows Year 6 Digital Leaders to provide peer-to-peer mentorship for the Year 5s.
Once appointed, our Digital Leaders take a proactive role in continuing the school’s digital progress. They are responsible for designing and delivering our annual Safer Internet Day assemblies and accompanying lessons. As well as promoting online safety, they are instrumental in driving digital standards across the school by leading specialised lunchtime clubs. These have included honing core computing skills for children in Key Stage 2 and developing Digital Literacy skills in Year 2. They provide support to classes during their Computing lessons too. Our Digital Leaders play a vital role in our school’s commitment to ensure every pupil feels confident and capable in the digital world.
