Early Years
At Vauvert Primary School, our curriculum is designed to provide a broad, balanced and ambitious education for every child, ensuring that all learners can thrive regardless of their individual starting points. Through careful planning and sequencing, we build children's knowledge, skills and understanding progressively over time, enabling them to make strong connections in their learning and develop confidence as successful learners.
Our curriculum is informed by the Bailiwick Foundation Framework and is carefully structured to provide the essential building blocks children need for future learning. We place a strong emphasis on developing key knowledge, language, skills and attitudes that will support children throughout their journey at Vauvert and beyond.
We recognise that young children learn best through a combination of high-quality teaching, purposeful play and meaningful experiences. While our curriculum has clear learning intentions and progression, we also value the interests, ideas and curiosities of our pupils. Our enabling environments, both indoors and outdoors, are carefully planned to inspire exploration, creativity and problem-solving. Through a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities, children are supported to develop socially, emotionally and academically, fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Regular opportunities to revisit and build upon previous learning help children to retain knowledge and deepen their understanding. By nurturing curious, confident and resilient learners, we aim to ensure that every child leaves the Early Years ready for the challenges and opportunities of the next stage of their education.

Areas of Learning
At Vauvert, we aim to teach the children through a range of engaging and exciting topics which captivates and enthuses the children. We use the children’s interests and ideas to help support and guide our planning, to ensure that their learning is child led and they are at the centre of their learning.
