Events & Updates

What do we have planned  . . .

Following our recent meeting, here are some dates for your busy diaries!

26th February - Our next meeting at 7.15pm in the KS1 hall - as always, everyone welcome.

9th March - Forms will go out for our Mothers Day golden ticket raffle, where you can bring home some chocolate but also have the chance to win some lovely prizes ! More details to follow on that in the coming weeks.

13th March - Film night.

15th May - Film night

June - Fathers Day Raffle

27th June - Summer Fayre

Helpers required . .  as always :-)

The last two film nights have been a big success and our little elves were busy wrapping special gifts at both events.

We now turn our attention to the next event, the school Christmas Disco which takes place on Friday 6th December.

There are two discos, KS1 & Foundation from 5.30 - 6.30pm and KS2 from 6.45 - 8pm.

This event is also when the Year 6's sell their Christmas gifts which they have been busy making to raise money for their Year 6 Jersey trip net year.

Tickets will be on sale for £2 each from Monday 2nd December.

To enable this to run smoothly though, you guessed it, we need volunteers for both discos please.

If you are able to assist, please drop us an e-mail or message us via Facebook.

Thank you very much.

Film Night - The Greatest Showman

An EXCITING new term

Have we got a fun packed first term for you and your children !

Our first event will be a film night on Friday 4th October - we will be showing The Greatest Showman (I personally can't wait, can you believe I haven't seen this yet !)

The film is a PG and therefore please understand that by purchasing a ticket you are allowing your child to watch this under the watchful eye of teachers & helpers. You can of course stay and watch too :-)

Tickets will be on sale from Monday 30th September but we will remind you nearer the time.

Future Events include another film night on 15th November.

The Christmas Discos will be held on 6th December and from the 11th - 13th December, children will be able to visit the grotto and pay for a gift for the special people in their life.

More on those events later in the term !

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Summer Festival madness

I don't even know where to begin !

We really hope that you all enjoyed the festival on Saturday. We had gorgeous weather for it, only just turning at the last minute !

Throughout the course of the week, I have managed to say a big thank you to those businesses who very kindly donated prizes to our raffle, alongside those companies who were running stalls and events throughout the day.

I hope you all had as much fun as we did !

So now, a big thank you to our band of volunteers who helped the afternoon go with a swing. Without your generosity in giving up your time, (or baking cakes) we would not be able to put on such fantastic events, I'm not sure we can thank you enough.

A big shout out to Mrs Turian and Mr Lesbirel too who have also provided help in the run up to the event and on the day itself. You guys are amazing 😀

We'd also like to say a very big thank you to Mrs Rachael Hockey of Sunshine Nursery who gave the PTFA a very generous donation, which will boost our efforts in purchasing the new play equipment.

And finally, we have contacted / messaged all raffle winners and prizes can be collected from the School office.

Thank you.

Summer Festival, until next time . . . .

THANK YOU EVERYONE

We would like to thank the following companies / people who generously donated gifts to the raffle, or provided their time at a discounted rate to enable us to put on a fabulous festival this afternoon.

Vauvert PTFA presents the Summer Festival

SUMMER FESTIVAL - VOLUNTEERS

We are keen to get as many helpers as we can to make the event run smoothly, so if you are able to offer some assistance on the day, we would be grateful if you could drop us an e-mail to ptfahelpers@gmail.com or complete the card and drop it into the PTFA box at school.

Many thanks :-)

Annual General Meeting

Thank you to those who turned out tonight for our AGM.

We also welcomed our youngest member, at 6 months young, little Zach - what a superstar he is ! He listened intently to everything that was going on, and I think he may have raised his hand to be Chair at one stage but we thought we better let him get his schooling out of the way first 😁

You will be thrilled to hear though that we managed to fill our executive positions, and we welcome Adele to the executive committee as our Treasurer.

Athene has now moved to become our Chair and the Secretary and Vice-Chair remain the same with Anna and Karen respectively.

I'd like to take this opportunity on behalf of the school and the PTFA to say a massive thank you to our retiring Chair, Caroline. She has made a massive impact on our PTFA over the last few years with her drive and enthusiasm. But all good things must come to an end. Caz won't be far though and will still be seen helping out at events, but with no added pressures to go along with it !

We have a couple of dates for the diary, so watch this space for some meeting dates and details of our Summer Festival coming soon.

** SAVE THE DATE Saturday 29th June 2019 - Vauvert Vibe Festival 19 **

Do you fancy stretching those brain cells ??

Our adult only quiz night takes place on Friday 5th April 2019.

Teams of 6 maximum, £5 per head, which includes a Ploughmans and it's BYO drink !!!

Entry forms have been sent via Dojo/Group Call or can be downloaded from our Facebook page.

We have limited tables, so please make sure you submit your entry forms ASAP !

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Request for assistance !

This year our fundraising efforts will be focused on raising money to buy new play/fitness equipment for the KS1 area.

This equipment and installation will not come cheap, and we are talking in excess of £15k to get the project completed.

We are thrilled that we will be one of the beneficiaries of the Saffery Walk this year, and our Summer Festival will also be working towards this goal. In addition we are receiving just over £500 from the raffle undertaken by the Guernsey Police new recruits.

However, we are also keen to hear from anyone who may have any leads or contacts at local businesses who are looking to make charitable financial contributions through the work place community projects.

Please do drop us a line, if you think you can give us a name of business that may be worth approaching.

Many thanks

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !

Wow, where has 2018 gone.

We put on a huge amount of events throughout the year, all well supported by teachers, parents, carers, family and friends.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank every one of you for all of your hard work, enthusiasm and support throughout the year.

We could not put on all these events and raise much needed funds for the school without your support, so it seems right as we start a fresh calendar year we say a massive thank you to you all.

We've got several events booked in over the coming months which are as follows:

Friday 18th January 2019 - Film Night - Hotel Transylvania 3 will be showing in the KS2 hall from 6.15pm. Tickets are £5 and this includes a bottle of water, some chocolate, sweets and crisps.  They will be on sale from Monday 13th in the KS1 hall.

Our summer event is currently in its early planning stage and we are holding a planning meeting at Les Rocquettes Hotel on Wednesday 23rd January at 7pm. Anyone that wishes to assist with the planning of this event is welcome to come along. Many hands make light work as they say !

Friday 1st March - Enterprise Disco. We are squeezing in an additional disco this year which will be supporting Year 6 in the fundraising for their Jersey trip at the end of term. They will be selling their products which they will be creating as part of their Dragon's Den style project. The students always come up with amazing ideas and some fab products. More details to follow on this nearer the time.

Many thanks

Successful EGM and our next meeting

Last night (9th October) we held a successful EGM where we agreed a constitution for the PTFA and also that we would take forward applying for charitable status. This does not mean that we automatically get given any additional funding, but does open up new opportunities for us to investigate further.

Our next meeting will be a meeting with a difference ! Being held on 13th November, we are asking parents, carers etc to turn up at 6.30pm and help wrap some of the gifts for the grotto along with pass the parcel bits and pieces that the children will do on Party day.

We will wrap from 6.30pm for an hour, then have our meeting at 7.30pm, probably followed by a bit more wrapping !

As they say many hands make light work, so it would be great to see as many people there as possible.

Film Night

Friday 21st September 2018

Transylvania 2 will be shown at this months film night.

Tickets will be on sale in the KS1 hall from 8.30am on Monday 17th September 2018.

They are £5 each and this includes a bottle of water and a snack bag.

Tickets are on a first come, first served basis, so make sure you get in early.

First PTFA meeting of the new school year

Our first meeting will be held on Thursday 13th September 2018 at 7.15pm. It will be held in the KS1 hall.

Everyone welcome, no need to commit to anything, just turn up and see what we have been up to !

Hope to see some new faces.

Thank you to everyone who supported our box in the Admiral Park store in April. We raised £98 for the PTFA, so thanks for your support.

SOLE MATES

SECOND HAND UNIFORM

We are always on the look out for good condition second hand uniform which we can sell.

In particular at the moment, if you have any small sizes that you are able to donate, that would be much appreciated.

Items can be handed in to the School Secretary.

Thanks very much

Summer Festival of Fun

A very BIG thankyou to everyone who made today such a success.

There are almost too many people to thank and I don’t want to miss anyone out !

So many people made this a success 😊

From volunteers who manned stalls, helped set up or clear away. Our generous cake bakers. To our performers who set the ambience of the afternoon perfectly. All of our stall holders, and those who provided other services including the bar, ice creams, bouncy castles, arts&crafts, food, collectors and carriers 😊

To PC Dover for giving up his free time - very much appreciated.

Big shout out also to those companies who generously donated prizes for our raffle too.

But like we always say, it doesn’t happen without the support of all of you who attended, so thank you very much.

Now, for a well deserved sit down 😊

If you are able to help at all with the Summer Fayre, please get in touch.

We will be looking for helpers to set up in the morning, run stalls throughout the afternoon, and help clear away afterwards.

Maybe you and a friend could run a stall for an hour and swap after 30 mins to watch the children ?

All help gratefully received.

Summer Fayre
